Today is National Domestic Violence Remembrance Day, a part of Domestic Violence Prevention Month. Living Proud acknowledges those who have lost their lives to family, domestic and sexual violence – especially those who are LGBTIQA+SB – and their loved ones who survive them. Family, domestic and sexual violence does not discriminate and is preventable. We all must play a role in this. Yesterday we attended the Valedictory Speech of Peter Foster MLC at Parliament House with Rainbow Futures WA and Youth Pride Network - YPN. Peter has been a strong, passionate and vocal advocate for the LGBTIQA+SB community during his 4 year term. He has given so much of his professional and personal time to support organisations, groups, people and causes and to help in any way he could. He has pushed for law reforms and taken his fair share of flack. Thank you Peter for your dedication and support! We hope that we will continue to work with you in some capacity in the future!
